Two more pieces are added to our Fall program this week and the last.
Couperin - In Notte Placida
Rameau - Domine Virtutum
We worked a lot on phrasing and smooth legato in Couperin, lightening the last syllable in pla-ci-da, creating a feeling of calm waves, warmth and richness of tone.
Rameau's Dominum is all together a different story. When learning it, keep in mind the unity of tone, holding final notes the full length non diminuendo, as if you were an instrument, not a voice.
