Dear singers,
How encouraging was it to see you again Wednesday and to welcome back friends, old and new! The excitement is in the air each time as the music of Bach comes alive.
The plan for Wednesday 9/16 is to continue with #3 and #35 and start #7 and #26. For a while I'd like to concentrate on "one-chorus" pieces as to not stretch ourselves before more people come back from vacations and new singers join.
I have also introduced everyone to the new project that we'll be a part of: Cantata for the Children of Terezin by the Westchester-based composer Mary Ann Joyce-Walter - a beautiful, emotional and not-too-difficult-to-sing work that will be world-premiered on November 1 at 4PM at the Congregation Emanu-el in Rye, New York (http://www.congregationemanuel.org/). The performance is sponsored by the Music Conservatory of Westchester, http://www.musicconservatory.org/BookingRetrieve.aspx?ID=51241. The dress rehearsal is Saturday 10/31 10 - 1 at Emanu-el and the concert call for us is 11/1 at 2PM. Another choir, especially recruited for the Cantata performance, will join us as well as Elm City Girls Chorus from Hew Haven (same as in 2013 Nielsen concert) and New York Metamorphoses Orchestra. Our performance promises to be very gratifying and memorable.
Thanks to Susie Morse, you can now download all voice parts of the Cantata from this Website!
The format of our next 7 Wednesdays rehearsals (up to 10/28) is planned the following way:
7:30 - 8:45 Bach
9 - 10 Cantata
As always, please direct your questions, requests, suggestions and demands to me at

Once again, welcome. Looking forward to seeing everyone each time!
